IN A bid to support local entrepreneurs, the New City Commercial Center (NCCC) organized its “SARAPangkabuhayan 2018” last November 16, at the Almendras Gym, Davao City.

Themed “Masayang Matuto, Masarap Kumita,” the event encourages the Dabawenyos to seek more exciting food ideas and provides business tips for the entrepreneurs who want to do something new for their business.

The third year of SARAPangkabuhayan was held outside the NCCC establishments to show the extension of its bond and support among its business partners.

“We want to empower our business partners especially yung mga karinderya owners,” Janna Mutalib, NCCC Supermarket marketing supervisor, said in an interview with Sunstar Davao.

The three-day event that will end 5 p.m. Sunday, November 18, at Davao City Recreation Center features various food professionals who relay their knowledge and ideas in carinderia and food catering business, giving Dabawenyo entrepreneurs with updated food ideas, affordable recipes, practical methods in cooking and organized business strategies while they are shopping for discounted and buy-one, take-one high quality products.

On the third day of the shopping event, celebrity chef Boy Logro will lead the cooking demonstration which would also bring the innovation of the local entrepreneurs.

Mutalib said that they did not expect the large number of shoppers who went during the opening day of the event.

“Nagdagdag kami ng allocations para ma-cater namin yung ibang shoppers na gusto pang humabol (We added more allocation to cater to the other shoppers),” she added.
