Randie J. Comilang

NEARLY one year since a deadly fire hit the NCCC Mall, not much progress has been made in court on the case.

The case has been subjected to review by the Davao City of Prosecutor Office (CPO).

"Actually may limang reviewers pero not necessary silang lima parang iraraffle kung who among the five will review (There are five reviewers of the case and the case will be raffled off among them)," Razon said in an interview with SunStar Davao Monday.

Razon added that the case might be also reviewed by the panel of prosecutors.

He said the resolution has been submitted around late November to the CPO to be reviewed.

"Yung mga reviewers they would also do their best to finish reviewing the resolution before anniversary (The reviewers would do their best to finish the reviewing the resolution before the anniversary),” He said.

On December 23, 2017, NCCC Mall in Ma-a was razed by a fire that caused the death of 38 individuals and destroyed P1.6 billion worth of property.

On August 30, 2018, the Inter Agency Anti-Arson Task Force filed charges against 33 individuals for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and multiple physical injuries.
