A HEALTH official said Dabawenyos are safe to go to the People’s Park and Crocodile Park vaccination hubs since they reopened on January 26, 2022, after a series of decontamination.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, said the staff at the People’s Park and Crocodile Park vaccination sites are not showing any symptoms and have tested negative for the Sars-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19.

More staff were also augmented to compensate the 24 healthcare workers who tested positive for the virus.

Schlosser said half of these workers have already recovered.

“Basig ang nabutang sa mind sa public is hadlok sa People’s Park or Crocodile park (The public may have thought that it is scary to go to People’s Park and Crocodile Park,” she said. “Us from the health cluster, dili namo tumong na mabakunahan mo pero ma infect pud mo (we do not want those who come to the vaccination sites to get infected). The goal is always to protect the people.”

The City Government also mandated the wearing of face shields for healthcare workers stationed in vaccination sites beginning January 26 for added protection.

“Gi mandatory lang na sa (It is only mandatory for) healthcare workers, particularly sa vaccination hubs because we cannot afford to get sick,” Schlosser said.

The mandate does not cover the general public.

Business owners or offices may ask their clients to wear face shields within their own establishments.
