P42-M for Pasko Fiesta

THE City Government of Davao allotted P42-million budget for the Winter Wonderland concept and programs of the annual Pasko Fiesta.

City Tourism head, Generose Tecson, said Thursday, November 8, during Ispeak media forum, that as a whole, the city is already 75 percent ready for the said celebration.

“The theme po this year is Winter Wonderland. The decorations would be leaning towards yung mga snowman, snowflakes, and color patterns are monochromatic from blue to white,” Tecson said, adding that the design is available in the website of the city.

She added the decoration of the city in this year’s theme is much likely the same cost from last year but livelier and more colorful.

Tecson showed the list of activities of the Pasko Fiesta with the new events such as the Pasko Fiesta Salu-Salo on November 30 to December 2, 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, 28-30 from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Sayaw sa Pasko Fiesta Dance Competition on December 1 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

They are also bringing back the Torotot Party on December 31 from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Rizal Park to welcome year 2019.

“Yung Phoenix po ang mag-sponsor ng Torotot Party and it is going to be a noise and merry-making to usher in the New Year for everybody,” she said.

Last year, City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio approved the P17 million Pasko Fiesta budget for the 22 activities which included the activities for children, private sector, Indigenous People, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender and for the senior citizen.
