People’s, Magsaysay parks to reopen to public soon

DAVAO City’s People’s Park and Magsaysay Park will reopen soon after the transfer of the vaccination hub to the health centers, said the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro).

“Hapit na matuman ang ilahang damgo nga maka-jogging sa People’s Park, siguro mga sunod bulan, Hulyo, gikahibal-an man sa lokal na paggamhanan nga ang vaccination ibutang na ngadto sa mga health centers, that’s the time abrehan na kana (Their wish to jog at People’s Park will finally come true. Probably by July we will be able to reopen the parks as the vaccination will be transferred to the health centers),” Engr. Juancho B. Dagasohan, Acting Chief of the Parks and Playgrounds Division of Cenro, said in an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio.

Also, Dagasohan said the Magsaysay park will be open on the same day that the People’s Park will be open to everyone.

“Isa pud na siya, ang Masaysay Park sabayon pud na siya og abri sa People’s Park kay duha lang ka parke sa Davao ang wala abrihe (We will also open Magsaysay Park, it will be open together with the People’s Park),” Dagasohan said.

Dagasohan said that People’s Park has been used as a vaccination site while the Magsaysay Park for the swabbing.

Earlier, Dr. Michelle Schlosser said that vaccination hubs will be transferred at the end of the month, June 30, 2022, as mandated by outgoing Mayor and the Vice-President Elect Sara Duterte but Schlosser said that the centers have yet to be identified. KSD
