Queen of Eagles wins Kosplay sa Kadayawan

ANGEL Montenegro was declared champion of the first-ever Kosplay sa Kadayawan competition with her entry piece called Queen of Eagles last Saturday, August 18, 2018.

Her costume, first seen as an eagle’s feather-inspired gown with shades of brown and gold, hid a surprise image of the Philippine Eagle when the gown was fully opened.

The second place was Jhonelle Pasaol with Tipuli as his entry piece; and third place was Kristian Luis Ronquillo with Malaya–Diyosa ng mga Agila as his entry piece.

Other participants are Ivy Ramos, Shugar Noynay, Aki Masi, Jade Añasco, Jesther John Ponicano, Lorie Mae Mintal, Janel Jan Marilao, John Cliff Banzon, Michael Libradilla, Abel Ando, John Vincent, Jastien Salazar,Kryzha Kate Pantoja, Val Ian Abella, Eduard Mark Castillo, Medel Gepte, Von Ryan Esperida, Seanne Oliver Santos, Jann Karl Revilleza and Raymond Artajo.

The champion was given P120,000 as cash prize.

The participants of the Kosplay sa Kadayawan joined the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan which started past 7 a.m. and ended at 2 p.m.

The participants each showed their entry piece, all related to the symbol of Davao City, the Philippine Eagle.

“Ang ganda ng mga performance at entries,” Senator JV Ejercito said, during an interview with SunStar Davao, adding that he was happy with the innovations and improvements of this year’s Kadayawan.
