Rigen Marketing a no show

A WEEK after the cease and desist order was filed against Rigen Marketing, the Davao City Anti-Scam Unit (ASU) revealed that it has not yet submitted necessary requirements for operation.

ASU head Simplicio Sagarino said on Friday, May 10, no representatives from Rigen came to their office to comply with the requirements.

“(Wala) Ni isa ka requirement nga gipangayo nato sa ila (Not even a single requrement that we asked coming from them),” Sagarino told SunStar Davao.

The ASU issued the order coming from the Davao City Business Bureau, after operating without business permit to operate including permits from the Business Bureau, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Trade and Industry and clearance from Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

A day after it was issued, Rigen’s offices in Ma-a and Buhangin were reportedly closed.

Representatives from Rigen told the unit they will submit the needed requirements within the week.

Sagarino also said no formal complaints were filed against the company.

He said transactions made by its representatives will be in violation of 2017 Revenue Code of the City of Davao.

Meanwhile, he also said the unit has not received any complaint against Kabus Padatoon-Community Ministry International, Inc. (Kapa) despite a cease and desist order issued by SEC.

However, the Branch 35 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in General Santos City issued a restraining order against SEC from implementing its order last May.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) also recently directed local government units (LGUs) in the Davao region and other parts of the country to padlock the offices of KAPA-Community Ministry International, Inc.

“Di ta enforce og cease and desist order diria sa Davao City kay wala man sila’y opisina diria (We cannot enforce any cease and desist order since they do not have any office here in the city),” Sagarino said.

However, he said the unit will continue its monitoring against any illegal investment scheme. (RGL)
