THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Davao regional office advised government employees to always observe non-partisanship during elections.

"Dili lang gyud mag-post og campaign material sa mga government facilities or government vehicles kay bawal gyud na. Dapat neutral ang government facilities, walay paboran (Campaign materials are not allowed to be posted in the government facilities and vehicles)," DILG 11 legal officer Louie Lumbaro said during the Kapihan sa PIA Friday, March 8.

Lumbaro cited the joint circular of Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Commission on Elections (Comelec) that employees or officials under civil service are also prohibited to campaign in favor of or against a running candidate.

"Kadaghanang panahon sa eleksyon ginagamit atong barangay properties particularly covered court, ang ako lang hangyo sa mga barangay nga to give equal opportunity (Mostly, during election campaign period covered courts of the barangays are used, all I am requesting from these barangays is to give equal opportunity)," DILG 11 Regional Director Alex C. Roldan said.

He also prohibited government employees from posting campaign propaganda or campaign through social media.

He added that any violation committed by a government employee can be reported to agencies concerned such as Comelec and Civil Service Commission.
