Utility warns of low to no water pressure

Sunnexdesk

THE Davao City Water District (DCWD) on Thursday advised low water pressure to no water on June 23, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. affecting some portions of GSIS Heights Subd., specifically the streets of Polaris, Comet, Pluto, Mercury, Mars, Virgo (from corner of Pluto St. to corner of Eagle St.), Aquarius, Jupiter, Planet, Galaxy, Milkyway, Surveyor, Apollo, Ranger, Telstar, Oak, Pisces, Capricorn, Rine, Mapple, and Willow; portion of Phil.-Japan National Highway (from corner Langub Road towards Green Valley); some Brgy. Langub areas including Sitio Mohon, San Nicolas Homeowners Assn., San Vicente Homeowners Assn., and Green Valley; west portion of Las Terrazas; and the entire Royal Pines Subd., Santos Cuyugan Road, White Rock, Shrine Hills Road, Matina Hills, and Jack’s Ridge.

A DCWD statement said water supply will not be available on said schedule as DCWD’s GSIS Tank 2 will be affected by Davao Light and Power Company’s power interruption on said date which is needed to facilitate the upgrading of DLPC’s power lines in GSIS Heights Subd. Although the power cut is shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on of the affected facility, pressure build up, and line delivery, thus, the longer duration of water service interruption.

DCWD general manager Engr. Edwin V. Regalado, in the said statement, asked for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers and advised them to store enough water prior to the scheduled water service interruption. Water supply may be restored earlier if DLPC’s work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.

The general public may visit DCWD website (www.davao-water.gov.ph) and official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/davaowater) or call the Central Information Unit / Call Center through the 24-hour hotline 297-DCWD (3293) and press “1” on their phone dial for the latest daily water updates. Contact 0927-7988966, 0925-5113293, and 0908-4410653 for other updates, complaints, queries, and matters pertaining to DCWD services. (Aleana Grace M. Sabijon)
