Village councilor, 3 others nabbed for drugs

FOUR drug suspects, including a barangay councilor, were arrested during a drug bust in Toril, Davao City on Friday, September 6, 2019.

Based on the police report, one drug personality was arrested after being targeted in a drug bust while three others, including a village councilor, were allegedly caught in the act conducting pot session by the operatives of Toril Police Station during an operation on September 6, at 2 p.m. at Villa Funeral Homes, McLeod St., Barangay Toril Poblacion, Toril, Davao City.

The suspects were identified as Jimmy Sayman Abi-Abi, 42, married, an embalmer and resident of McLeod St., Barangay Toril Poblacion, (subject of buy-bust); Marcelo Papalid Ramos, 46, single, barangay kagawad of Barangay Lubogan; Rogelio Pedeles Tayan Jr.; and Elinai Roda Rasay, 27, Single, make-up artist and a resident of Villarosa, Barangay Lubogan, all in Toril, Davao City.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao Region said that Ramos is considered as one of the high-value targets of Toril Police Station.

Recovered from the suspects were 11 sachets of suspected shabu worth P45, 000; one piece improvised lighter with an improvised needle; one piece improvised tooter; and a cellular phone.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act as amended are now being prepared for filing to the court against the suspects.
