All set for Samal 50

THE green light is on for the staging of the Samal 50 that will kick off on October 13 at the Casa Estrella Beach Camp in Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos).

Samal 50 organizer Karla Degrano bared this yesterday in an interview after 150 participants already signed up for the race that aims to promote the rich natural resources of Igacos.

Degrano, however, said they will not yet release the route until the race breifing on October 7 but assured that it will be very challenging.

The 50K route is composed of a grueling 80 percent trail course and 20 percent road track that will begin in Barangay Balet and will end at Casa Estrella.

The third edition also features a 22-kilometer or a half marathon category for male and female.

The 22-K race will start and finish at Casa Estrella.

The event is presented by Base Camp, Bagani and Beach Camp in partnership with the local government unit (LGU) of Igacos and it is backed by Salomon, Fitbar, Fern-C, NTR and Top Cafe.
