JAY Bulicatin, Kurt John Placencia and James Catayas shared top honors in the recently-concluded Damosa Land Inc. Chess Challenge held at the Damosa Market Basket in Lanang, Davao City.

Bulicatin tallied 4.5 points in the five-round Swiss System format chessfest organized by the Damosa Land Inc. and sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines.

He captured the 21 years old and above division title over 3.5-pointers Alfred Moulic and Gino Angelo Asuncion who placed second and third, respectively.

Placencia, for his part, topped the 13-20 years old division with 4.5 points, outclassing four-pointers Irish Yngayo and Ryan Gabriel Rasay.

Catayas, meanwhile, tallied perfect five points to annex the 12 years old and below division crown over 4.5-pointers Jerome Pullos and Lienane Faith Salajudin in the event that a attracted some 80 players from Cotabato City, Kidapawan City, General Santos City, Panabo City and Tagum City.

The monthly competition will resume in November.
