CJC crushed San Pedro College (SPC), 69-43, behind SPC-Mandarin best player of the game Vincent Senajon who erupted with 32 points, grabbed four rebounds and two steals and issued one assist.

He thanked the Lord for guiding them in their game. "Focus lang mi sa game og hatag lang jud ang tanang makaya (We just focused on the game and gave everything we can)," he said in an interview after the game.

JPIICD, meanwhile, survived a 10-3 run of the Mats College of Technology in the fourth period to pull off a 73-60 win.

This despite the efforts of Mats players to stage a rally in the second and third quarters.

Kim Joseph Mundiz lifted JPIICD's triumph by canning 17 baskets on top of four rebounds, two assists and seven steals.

He said,"Saktong defense og unsang gisugo sa amo ni coach mao ra among gihimo sa court kabalo jud mi nga makuha ang kadaugan (We put up solid defense and followed what coach told us to do inside the court. We know we would claim the win)."

Mundiz added that it's been his habit to always better his last performance in every game.

In other matches, the Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings cruised to claim its third straight triumph after shattering Brokenshire College, 88-71, behind the heroics of John Rashid Hebaina who sank 16 markers with seven rebounds, one assist and two steals while the University of Mindanao (UM) Main Wildcats escaped past DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP), 82-72, via overtime. A slot to the Mindanao finals of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League is at stake in the cagefest presented by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas 11 director Glenn Escandor and managed by SBP 11 operations head Ronel Leuterio.

WHERE’S THE WATER? Water is sparse at the Jaclupan wellfield in Talisay City in this photo provided by the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) on Friday, April 26, 2024. Completed in 1998, MCWD’s Jaclupan facility, officially known as the Mananga Phase I Project, catches, impounds and pumps out around 30,000 cubic meters of water per day under normal circumstances. However, on Friday, MCWD spokesperson Minerva Gerodias said the facility’s daily production had plummeted to 8,000 cubic meters per day, or just about a quarter of its normal capacity, as Cebu grapples with the effects of the drought caused by the El Niño phenomenon, which is expected to persist until the end of May. The facility supplies water to consumers in Talisay City and Cebu City. /
