THE Davao Pangulo Futbol Club (FC) is all set to compete for honors in the four-team Philam Life 7s Kampeon Cup slated Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28 at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig City.

Coach Christian Ea, in the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao, Thursday, July 25, said, “Since nga top four teams, bakbakan jud. Wala mi nakita nga medyo hinay nga team kami diri preparado jud. Walay dehado ani (Since only the top four teams are left, it would he a tough contest. No team is a pushover and we have also prepared for the tournament).”

Only top four teams qualified and Davao City will represent Mindanao. Dabawenyos will play against Manila, Cebu and Bacolod in the 7’s football league.

He said that the level of competition is high since some teams have in their rosters former Azkals players.

“Confident mi (We are confident),” he said.

Co-captain Ed Merrill Walohan, for his part, said they are confident from the lesson and experiences they gained from the recent tournaments they joined in. He added, “Nagtuo ko nga kaya namo ni (I believe we can do it).”

Warren Ravanes, meanwhile, assured they would do their best for the city.

The Davao squad, which was given a send-off dinner Wednesday evening, has been training at the Azuela Cove in Lanang.

The team, co-mentored by veteran Albert Ryan Lim, is also composed of Archemides Ligaray, Krentz Orbigo, Arnel Casil, Gregorio Zamora, Harold Myles Robles, Rimar Cordon, Angelo Paring, Owen Jasper Padernal, Choi Puy, Rey Lagura, Jacob Liao, Mikoh Arrieta and Kennedy Azoka.
