Diagold Pawnshop shocks rival

THE Diagold Pawnshop shocked the defending champion Sarabia Bowlers, which also had a twice-to-beat advantage, as it clinched the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) Mixed Oktoberfest Bowling Tournament championship held last Tuesday, October 23, at the Fairlanes Bowling Center.

The second-seeded Diagold Pawnshop, bannered by Fritz Gerald Barros, Merci Delmar, Lhanz Zoie, Pearl Bravo, Eddie Sagario and Nonoy Baluyot, posted a 511-488, 544-520 victory over Sarabia Bowlers in the step-the-ladder finals after beating fourth-seed Homer 538-534 in the second round.

Homer earlier demolished third-seed JJ Dat 520-501.

Diagold Pawnshop, meanwhile, took home the P10,000 champion purse while the Jun Auza, Dra. Mona Luz Sarabia, Ching Mangubat, Cocoy Villarin and Bong Villamo-powered Sarabia Bowlers received P7,000.

Homer, composed of Muktan Amsirabi, Sky Amsirabi, Mathess Domino, Nadz Ajijil and Nash Amsirabi, went home with P5,000 while Tata Gorgonio, Agnes Rafamonte, Maam Jee, Jojo Sta. Maria and Dencio Mani's JJ Dat got P3,000.
