Kadayawan basketball

THE much-awaited 83rd Kadayawan sa Dabaw Invitational Basketball Tournament will get underway on August 9 to 12 at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC).

This was bared by Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) executive program director Irish Ortiz and confirmed by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) executive program officer Ronel Leuterio.

Leuterio said participating teams include two-month old Davao-Go-Duterte, defending champion University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers, the National University Bulldogs and newcomer University of Cebu Webmasters.

Huge cash prizes await winners with this year's champion receiving P100,000 while the runner-up will take home P60,000.

The next two placers will claim P40,000 and P30,000.

The event is presented by SBP 11 under regional director Glenn Escandor and co-presented by SDD-CMO in celebration of the 83rd Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival.
