Kadayawan league kicks off today

THE much-awaited 34th Kadayawan Sports Festival Commercial Invitational Basketball Tournament unfurls with a short opening program at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, August 11 at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center.

First game is set at 5 p.m. while the second game is slated at 7 p.m. However, drawing of lots is scheduled at noon today during a coaches’ meeting to determine the schedule of games.

Araw ng Dabaw 2019 champion De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers will try to win a back-to-back title against National University (NU) Bulldogs, Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras and University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Davao Region operations head said Dabawenyos can expect exciting games ahead in the free admission tournament organized by SBP under regional director and Presidential Assistant on Sports Glenn Escandor.

Cash prizes of P100,000, P60,000, P40,000 and P30,000 await the top four placers in the league also sponsored by the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO). They will also receive trophies.
