Rainbow volleyball opens March 3

ENTERTAINING action awaits spectators when the 2019 Araw ng Dabaw Rainbow Volleyball League unfurls on March 3 at the Davao City National High School (DCNHS) gym.

Balibolista de Dabaw's Abet Bernan, during yesterday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao, said, “This is a tournament open to gays. Whether current or former varsity players may join or those already working from different fields. Few fashion designers are joining, too.”

Bernan said 10 teams will compete for honors in the volleyfest that will also have games on March 9 and 10, 23 and 24.

Teams will be divided into two groups then will play the single round robin format elimination. The top four teams will play the crossover semifinals enroute to the championship.

The first to fourth placers will receive cash prizes and trophies from the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office since the event is part of the official Araw ng Dabaw sports festival.

Special individual awards will be given to exceptional players.
