ORGANIZERS cancelled the 3rd Radyo ni Juan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Challenge 2018 set Sunday at the Rizal Park in Davao City due to sudden downpour.

The event was supposed to feature 10 exciting fights including the main event of I.Flex Spartam-Team Lakay Edilberto “Scooby” Coquia Jr. and veteran Victor Torre of Gladiator-Mumma Cagayan.

Only two bouts were finished before the rest of the fights were halted.

Vince Coronaz of I.Flex Spartam defeated Valerio Dela Cerna of Tagum MMA via submission while Jeruel Basco of Team Flashval scored an armbar win over Jay Verdadero of Observed MMA Tagum.

Organizer Butch Mendoza said, “Umulan kasi tapos pagdating ng 9:30 p.m. tumila na yung ulan pero yun nga naibigay na ang mga premyo.”

The event was set at Rizal Park to allow Dabawenyos witness live mixed martial arts action for free in celebration of the 2018 Kadayawan Festival.

Coquia, who came home after a five-month training in Baguio City, still thanked the organizers.
