Sarabia Bowlers lead Oktoberfest

THE Sarabia Bowlers grabbed the lead of the Sunday Bowlers Club (SBC) Oktoberfest Mixed Bowling Tournament at Fairlanes Bowling Center along F. Torres Street in Davao City Thursday evening, October 18.

Team Sarabia struck for a total of 2,222 pinfalls after four games while Homer rolled 2,171 pins to place second followed by Diagold that garnered 2,170 for third.

Trailing behind were MJC (2,138), MAF Tractor (2,137), JJ Dat (2,123), BAT-HAI (2,064), Petros Bowlers (1,983), YAZI (1,979) and Five Brothers (1,978).

The top four teams after the six-game elimination series tournament will advance to the step-the-ladder championship round on Tuesday.

A total cash prize of P36,100 is at stake for the winners with the champion taking home P10,000 while the next three placers will settle for P8,000, P6,000 and P4,000.

In the masters competition, the champion will pocket the P1,500 top purse while the second, third and fourth placers will claim P1,000, P700 and P500.

Individual awardees like the highest single and double winners will bag P1,000 each even as the highest pinning, highest individual average, highest individual single and double will earn P500 apiece.

The annual tournament, which is supported by the city government of Davao, is organized to promote the sport of duckpin bowling in Davao City. (Marizz Robilla-Perez)
