VETERAN pintoppler Absalon Serrano, Jr. clinched the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) Monthly Finals title Sunday, November 4, at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center.

He demolished Celso Garcia in the step-the-ladder finals of the event organized by the Datba.

Serrano, who gained a twice-beat-advantage by leading the six-game elimination series with a total of 1,256 pinfalls, outplayed Garcia in the sudden death, 203-188, after losing the first game against the latter, 177-213.

Garcia, who was fourth in the eliminations with 1,161, climbed his way to the top and arranged a titular showdown with Serrano.

Garcia nipped second-ranked Gab Velasco, 184-183, after eliminating third-ranked Kert Palces, 207-177.

Serrano received P7,000 while the next three placers took home P4,000, P2,000 and P1,000.
