THE Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Davao United Bulldogs survived past Solido Violet, 4-3, via penalty shootout to win the men’s open championship title of the just-concluded 2nd JTs Manukan Football Festival held at the Azuela Cove in Lanang, Davao City.

Both teams were tied at 1-all at the end of regulation. In the penalty shootout, the RMC Davao United knocked in three goals as against Solido Violet’s two.

Ed Merrill Walohan, who forced the deadlock by blasting RMC Davao United’s goal, was hailed most valuable player (MVP).

Solido Violet settled for the runner-up honors while Solido Orange placed third and Blue Knights FC came fourth.

RMC also took a second title in mixed 9 division through the heroics of MVP Dennis Dimaano while Southshield FC placed second. Koronadal FC placed third while Hyenas FC was fourth.

In women’s open, Khanj annexed the title over RMC College while Lady Knights FC and RMC HS finished third and fourth, respectively.

Patricia Erika Francisco of KHanj was feted the MVP honors.

Sean Borla, meanwhile, lifted Crocs FC to capture the boys 12 crown at the expense of Rovers FC. Southshield FC and RMC FC grabbed the next two spots.

Visiting teams Tamasak Panabo and Koronadal FC-A pocketed the mixed eight and parents/coaches titles, respectively.

The rest of the champions - Hyenas FC (mixed 10), Crocs FC (boys 12) and Rovers FC (boys 11).

The parents/coach category, according to organizers, will also be included in another tournament set in August.
