TVFES runners shine

THE Teofilo V Fernandez Elementary School (TVFES) struck for three gold medals, five silvers and two bronzes in the recently-concluded first GET Track Invitational held at the University of Mindanao (UM) track oval in Matina.

Barangay Indangan-based TVFES runners Hillary Tamalon and Christian Lyod Facum along with the elementary girls 4X100 meter relay team clinched golds. Tamalon outran Alyssa Baga of Magalannes Elementary School (MES) and Jeralyn Bajenting of Maa Central Elementary School (Maa CES) in elementary girls 100-meter dash while Facum topped the boys 100m with a time of 14:44 seconds. His teammate Albert Luztre (14:77) placed second while Maa CES' Fritz Mallatan (15:03) was third.

Calinan National High School (CNHS), for its part, hauled three golds, two silvers and two bronzes. CNHS' golds were courtesy of Hannah Marie Valles (secondary girls 100m, 200m) and secondary girls 4x100 relay team.

Crossing Bayabas National High School (CBNHS) also had its share of glory by bagging three golds, one silver and four bronzes while Davao City National High School had two golds. Maa Central Elementary School garnered two golds, two silvers and three bronzes even as Imelda Elementary School copped two golds and two bronzes and Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Sr. Elementary School cornered two golds and one silver.

Meanwhile, Magallanes ES took a gold and two silvers and Maa National High School also pocketed a gold and a silver.

Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (Dranhs) salvaged two silvers and two bronzes while A.L. Navarro National High School had two silvers and Villa Abrille ES with four bronzes.

The trackfest was organized by GET Holdings Incorporated with UM, sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission and supported by Patafa 11 and Department of Education (Deped).
