Unbeaten teams

THE Ford Academy of the Arts (FAA) and Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) kept their unbeaten slates after grabbing wins anew in the recent resumption of the 3rd RMC Davao Pride Basketball League (DPBL) at the RMC Petro Gazz Arena in Davao City.

FAA dribblers led from the start, dominating in both offense and defense until the dying minutes to overwhelm Samal National High School, 77-44.

Andrey Apuya sizzled with 22 points on top of his nine rebounds, five assists, four steals and one block. His team, thus, leads the current Elite Division bracket B with a clean 3-0 win-loss record among seven teams.

RMC Bulldogs, meanwhile, improved to a 2-0 card in Rockstar Division bracket B by ravaging San Pedro College (SPC), 72-25, behind the heroics of Alvin Villanueva who canned 11 markers, grabbed seven rebounds and three steals and issued four assists.

However, SPC bounced back via a 69-28 victory over San Juan to pace the Elite Division bracket A with a 2-0 mark. SPC’s Charles Vitor exploded with 24 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, 11 steals and two blocks.

Stella Maris Academy of Davao also eked out a win, crushing Philippine Women’s College, 57-27, in their Elite Division match. Alex Decin made 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals to be hailed as best player of the game.

Meanwhile, Matina Central Elementary School rolled past Philippine Nikkie Jin Kai International School, 90-26, while Assumption College of Davao (ACD) escaped past Holy Cross of Davao College, 58-52, and Bernardo Carpio National High School toppled Ateneo de Davao University, 78-72.
