ALL systems go for the Fide Arena International Master (AIM) Rey Urbiztondo Thanksgiving and Anniversary Open Chess Tournament via lichess.org on August 26.

Arena Grand Master (AGM) Henry Roger Lopez bared this in a post to the Official National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Facebook page on August 1.

He said participants must be a member of the AIM Rey Urbiztondo Chess Team (https://lichess.org/team/aim-rey-urbiztondo-chess-team).

Registration fees are P30 for Filipino players via GCash (0947 366 3897 of Henry Roger Lopez) and US$2 for foreign players via Paypal (lopez9000@yahoo.com).

NCFP-banned players due to cheating are not allowed to join the tournament and players are required to register their real names. Lopez, however, said players may only use aliases provided that the real name is provided in the profile with 50 rated games.

“No cheating by using chess engines, no piloting by letting a stronger player play for you,” he said.

A total cash prize of P19,500 will be at stake with the champion bagging P5,000 while the next four placers will pocket P4,000, P3,000, P2,000, and P1,000.

The rest of the top 10 will receive P500, P400, P300, P200 and P100. The 11th to 15th finishers will also each claim P100.

Cash prizes also await the first three days top lady, top senior, top junior, top kiddies, and top PWD.

Games will be lives streamed on IM Roderick Naya YouTube Channel.
