Dumaguete’s 30% target population vaxxed vs Covid-19

AT LEAST 30,398 residents or 30 percent of the target qualified population of 100,542 in Dumaguete City have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of October 4.

Fully vaccinated individuals have received two doses of Covid-19 vaccines such as Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Pfizer, Sinopharm, Moderna, and Janssen.

About 7,998 individuals have received their first dose of the vaccine.

This brought to a total of 38,396 residents who have already been vaccinated under the following categories: (A1, medical frontliners) 2,583; (A2, senior citizens) 7,491; (A3, persons with comorbidities) 8,335; (A4, frontline personnel) 12,177; and (A5, indigents) 7,810.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla said 827 residents were vaccinated in the two vaccination sites at Robinson Mall and Pulantubig Gymnasium on October 4.

Talla also reported four new Covid-19 cases, 10 additional recoveries and one death on October 6.

The latest Covid-19 fatality was a 66-year-old man who was hospitalized due to dyspnea.

At present, there are 135 active Covid-19 cases, 3,284 recoveries and 91 deaths in Dumaguete City. (PIA)
