'Pushers' nabbed in Dumaguete drug bust

TWO suspected drug pushers were arrested in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Poblacion 8, Dumaguete City on Tuesday, August 13.

A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) identified the suspects as Kevin John Delayco Kalubiran, 23, and John Belmor Moreno Cordoba, 22.

Both suspects were arrested in a drug bust conducted around 4 a.m. in Purok Panaghiusa after they allegedly sold shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an undercover operative.

Seized from them were more or less eight grams of shabu with an estimated value of P54,400.

Both suspects are included in Dumaguete City Police Station's watchlist of suspected drug personalities.

The operating team was composed of personnel from the City Drug Enforcement Unit, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Regional Special Operations Group and the Provincial Special Operations Group, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Oriental.

The suspects are now under detention pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
