THE Iloilo City Government has started accepting applications for business permits renewal until January 20.

The Business-One-Stop Shop (Boss) at City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) at the

ground floor of the city hall is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends until January 20, Business Permits and Licensing Division head Norman Tabud said.

A total of 15,558 businesses are expected to renew their permits, he added.

“We are open during weekends until the 20th to give time to businessmen to renew their permits because we understand that there are some of them who are not available during weekdays due to their jobs,” Tabud said.

The Boss offers three steps for business renewal: the filing of complete

documents which includes submission of declaration of gross receipts along with the requirements to the examiner’s desk at the CTO; claiming of Tax Order of Payment at the Examination and Inspection Division; and payment and claiming of business permit.

Businessmen can transact the Steps 1 and 2 through online by downloading

the form at www.iloilocity.gov.ph., filling-up, emailing, printing and signing before presenting it to CTO.

“We are expecting 80 to 90 percent turnout to be renewed by the 20th

because some of our businessmen prefer to pay for penalty after the deadline due to lack of finances for early processing,” Tabud said.

Businessmen who will fail to renew before the deadline will pay 25 percent business tax and additional two percent every month until the time they renew their permits, he added. (PR)
