THE Iloilo City Government will temporarily provide 200 "kaings" or bamboo baskets as trash bins in downtown Iloilo City during Dinagyang 2020.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas hopes this will provide the solution to indiscriminate throwing of garbage during the festivities.

However, he clarified that culprits will be issued with citation tickets when caught for anti-littering ordinance which is still effecting during the Dinagyang 2020 activities.

Cleanliness of streets and public places poses a challenge as a huge crowd converges to celebrate the city’s premier cultural, religious and tourism celebration which climaxes on Sunday, January 26, 2020, the feast day of Señor Santo Niño with a concelebrated high mass at San Jose Parish at 6 a.m. before the start of the Dinagyang 2020 tribe 360-degree competition.
