A TOTAL of 21 couples will tie the knot in a mass wedding to be officiated by Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III during Valentine’s Day celebration on February 14 in Barangay Concepcion, Iloilo City.

“This is City Government’s way of legalizing the relationship of these couples and at the same time encouraging them who are living together to avail of our free mass wedding,” Espinosa said.

“One of the main objectives of ‘Pag-Ulikid sa Barangay’ is to bring the City Hall services closer to the people. It will make them aware that we have this kind of service,” said Rachel Lapascua, City Population Program Officer III.

Lapascua noted the couples have undergone pre-marriage counseling.

The City Government will provide for the couples’ rings and bouquets of the brides.

The City Population Office (CPO) is accepting applications for another mass wedding set in March.

Those interested may visit CPO at 5th floor of City Hall or inquire at desk during Pag-Ulikid sa Barangay caravan. (PR)
