50 Molo fire-affected families get aid

THE Iloilo City Government has provided food items and medical assistance to 50 families who were displaced by fire in Barangay Taal, Molo district on Monday, January 14.

Mayor Jose Espinosa III visited the affected families during the incident after which they were evacuated at Iloilo City National High School.

“We will also process immediately the financial assistance to be given to them,” Espinosa said.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office provided 50 sacks of rice for 50 families or 50 kilograms of rice per family; 750 cans of sardines, beef loaf, pork and beans, and sausages or 15 cans per family of each food item per family; and 20 bottles of mineral water per family as of 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15.

The City Engineer’s Office also delivered two tanks of potable water with a capacity of 2,000 liters.

The City Health Office likewise continues to provide medical assistance to affected individuals.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) conducted Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis at the affected area and continues to coordinate with CDRRM council members. It also provided 50 blankets. (PR)
