THE Iloilo City Agriculturist’s Office’s Beautification Program has placed potted flowering plants on major roads in the metropolis to replace the withered ones.

Blue butterfly pea and sunflower plants were placed along General Luna Street in front of The Mansion Hotel and University of San Agustin.

“Previously, there were pots with plants that were positioned in the islands on major roads. However, since some of the plants have withered, we decided to replace them with flowering plants,” City Agriculturist Romulo Pangantihon said.

They also plan to plant rosy trumpet trees along Ledesma Street just like the ones situated along Diversion Road.

The public is also encouraged to plant trees in their vacant lots and backyards to lessen the effects of climate change and heat index. (PR)
