Former ministry of information chief of Marcos dies at 91

MAKATO, Aklan-- The former chief of the ministry of information of former President Ferdinand Marcos has died.

According to his family who requested anonymity, Jose Soning Tumbukon, 91, died of a kidney failure in a private hospital in Aklan early morning of May 9. They kept hidden the cadaver for several days to provide family privacy in paying tribute to the dead.

“The remains will stay at the ABL Atadium until his burial on May 21,” a family of Tumbukon said.

Tumbukon served as the chief of ministry of information of Marcos from 1979-1984. He also served as the assemblyman of Aklan. (SunStar Philippines)
