MAKATO, Aklan -- Hundreds of millennials, professional, amateur models, and kids are joining the first-ever fashion for a cause on October 26 at the ABL Sports Complex.

Catherine Castillo, municipal tourism officer, said the event is in coordination with the Manila-based Mode Elle Academy and the Aklan Fashion Designer Guild.

“The fashion for a cause is for the benefit of those who are reeling from various cancer cases, especially children in Metro Manila,” said Castillo.

The organization of the said project took two years to conceptualize.

Rey Allen Castillo of the Mode Elle Academy said that the runway of Makato will be designed as an X-shape to delete negativities.

"This is to immortalize passion, to multiply, to correct failures and to give extra special definition of what is productivity, responsibility, creativity and passion," Castillo said.

"We will walk the runway that will mark an extraordinary Filipinos, who had been loving the culture, radiation and beauty of the Philippines," he added.

The town of Makato is a fourth class municipality few kilometers away from the world renowned Boracay Island.
