THE Iloilo City Dinagyang Grandstand was blessed before it opened to the public for Opening Salvo at Muelle Loney facing Iloilo River last Friday, January 11.

San Jose Parish Priest Fr. Raymundo Edsel Alcayaga led the blessing ceremony in honor and devotion to Sr. Sto. Niño whom the city’s premier festival pays homage to.

“This is a happy occasion. Both the Dinagyang Festival and the Iloilo Batiano River Development Project won the Galing Pook Award. We are going to hang the awards at the upper part of the Grandstand to showcase the improvement and recognition. All of these were made possible with the blessing from Sr. Santo Niño,” Mayor Jose Espinosa III said.

Espinosa said the City Government dedicates the new facility to the Ilonggos. (PR)
