Iloilo mayor suspends liquor ban

ILOILO City Mayor Jose Espinosa III has temporarily suspended Executive Order (EO) 146, series of 2017 directing the mandatory closure at 2 a.m. of all bars, night clubs, disco bars, resto bars, and other similar establishments here.

Espinosa issued EO 008 suspending the 2 a.m. liquor ban from Friday, January 25, immediately preceding the Kasadyahan on January 26 and Dinagyang on January 27.

“I am temporarily suspending the Executive Order which I previously issued. However, this is only applicable starting on Friday until Monday morning. This is in connection with Dinagyang celebration because some businessmen here appealed for the relaxation of the rule,” Espinosa said.

Iloilo City Police Office with augmentation from the Police Regional Office (PRO)- Western Visayas and Philippine Army, will help maintain the safety of revelers. (PR)
