THE Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) turned over Monday, February 3, to Department of Education-Division of Iloilo City and Association of Barangay Captains the information, education and campaign (IEC) materials on disaster preparedness.

CDRRMC's IEC advocacy aims to equip teachers and pupils, and residents with proper knowledge to be prepared against disasters.

Some 70 Sintra boards each detailing preparedness and prevention tips before, during, and after disaster such as earthquake, fire, flood, typhoon, and tsunami; and 6,000 flyers for each disaster, will be distributed to public schools.

Six thousand more flyers of K-KIT or contents for a 72-hour survival bag will be also given as guide to better prepare for calamities.

Some 5,000 stickers with Emergency Hotlines of responders will be disseminated to 180 villages. (PR)
