THE Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) in Western Visayas said it is keen on rolling out vaccines to all of its officers, members, employees and family members.

Ronald So, regional governor of PCCI-Western Visayas, said they had talked to Bharat Biotech of India First Asia Resources Company (FARC), the marketing arm of Covaxin.

"Right now, we are awaiting the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Department of Labor and Employment for the intended vaccination for private sectors. We want to help the government speed up the inoculation program of the government by buying our own," said So.

He said the PCCI is still open to other available vaccines in the country, as long as the distributor is committed to deliver the vaccines as soon as possible.

‘While the IRR is not yet ready, we asked the FARC to send us the draft of the letter of intent, memorandum and draft costing from the source to the provinces four our officers to study,” So said.

In Boracay, a group of private stakeholders is also gathering manifests for private companies and hotels to gather numbers of those who are interested in getting their doses of Covid-19 vaccines. (SunStar Philippines)
