Duterte asks for cooperation from Western Visayas residents

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte urged residents of Western Visayas to cooperate with the government amid the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) being implemented in the region due to coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

In a televised address made by Duterte aired over One Western Visayas of the GMA Regional TV Network-Iloilo, he said that by cooperation, the crisis and pain being felt by the residents would be minimized.

"I hope and pray that everything of this will end soon. As long as the residents of Western Visayas cooperate," he said.

The Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas reported Friday, April 2, that the region now has 25 positive cases of Covid-19.

Of the number, Iloilo province has seven cases, Bacolod has six, Aklan has five, Iloilo City has three, Capiz also has three, and one for Negros Occidental.

The DOH also reported five Covid-19 fatalities, two of which are from Iloilo Province and one each from Iloilo City, Bacolod City, and Capiz. (SunStar Philippines)
