A CEBUANO was declared the first winner of "BidaMan," a talent search segment of the long-running noontime show "It's Showtime."

Jin Macapagal, 24, of Cebu City, was named winner during the grand finals held Saturday, August 10, at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao.

Macapagal, during the finals, captured the attention of the viewers and judges when he performed a hospital scene with actress and model Jane Oineza.

The scene depicted Macapagal as a lover desperate to convince his cancer-stricken girlfriend, played by Oineza, that he would remain by her side, even if she continues to push him away.

The performance earned tears from host Vice Ganda, who became emotional.

The show's panelists include director Bobet Vidanes, Joshua Garcia, Edu Manzano, Angel Locsin, Ian Veneracion, Nadine Lustre and Ruel Bayani.

The final scoring was based on the combined scores of the judging panel, including that of Vidanes.

Macapagal received a P1,000,000 cash prize, alongside a management and movie contract.

He was also promised to appear in an upcoming film with Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis. (SunStar Philippines)
