5 dead, 7 hurt in Albay accident

FIVE people died while seven others were injured when a dump truck ploughed through at least 12 vehicles in Daraga, Albay.

An initial report from the Police Regional Office in Bicol said the dump truck's brakes malfunctioned at 9:51 a.m. Friday, October 19, while it was traversing Maharlika Highway in Barangay Malabog.

It flipped after it rammed through 12 vehicles.

The truck was carrying sand and gravel and had come from Camalig.

The fatalities have yet to be identified. Those injured are being treated at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital in Legazpi City.
