6 arrested, P15-M marijuana seized in Tarlac

SIX individuals were arrested in Concepcion, Tarlac over the possession of more than P15 million worth of marijuana, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

In a report, the PDEA identified those arrested as Marlon Miranda, 34, and Joey Palaeyan, 33, both from Tabuk, Kalinga; Freddie Letta, 35, from Sta. Ana in Manila; Carl Andrei Maico, 22, from Quezon City; Via Jean Ortiga, 19, from Northern Samar; and Lorraine Fulgencio, 23, from Quezon City.

They will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Miranda and Palaeyan, identified by the PDEA as distributors of illegal marijuana in Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley, were arrested after selling P3 million worth of the said drug to poseur buyers in a drug bust Thursday morning.

Letta, Maico, Ortiga and Fulgencio then arrived and transacted with the suspected pushers. They were also arrested.

Authorities seized 133 kilograms more marijuana from Miranda and Palaeyan with an estimated street value of P15.96 million.

The suspects were brought to the Tarlac Provincial Police Office for proper documentation and disposition. (SunStar Philippines)
