Comelec puts up election results website

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said an Election Results Website will go live as soon as voting ends at 6 p.m. Monday, May 13.

Comelec Commissioner Luie Guia said the website will allow the public to do their own computations and determine the winner in their area.

"You can even download all the results in all the precincts in your municipality and do your own addition," Guia said.

"We have a results website. But the results website will not have its own tabulation," he added.

On its website http://comelec.gov.ph/?r=2019NLE/ElectionResults, Comelec said the election results website will be available starting 6 p.m. Monday, May 13.

Guia said the website aims to help promote transparency in the May 2019 elections.

"These are mechanisms by which you can verify if the results are accurate or not. At the end of the day, what we want to make sure, of course, is that the results are accurate," said Guia.

Voting started at 6 a.m. and will end at 6 p.m. Monday for the midterm National and Local Elections. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
