AN INTOXICATED policeman shot and killed a man, and wounded another in Tondo, Manila Friday dawn, November 20, 2020.

In a report, the Manila Police District identified the suspect as Patrolman Alvin Santos, who is assigned at the Sta. Cruz Police Station 3.

Based on initial investigation, victims Joseph Marga, Mark Lester Quiñones and Nelson delos Santos were walking on their way home when they encountered Santos in Barangay 106.

Santos allegedly threatened to arrest the three for no apparent reason.

Marga explained that they were residents of the area and that they were on their way home.

Santos got agitated by Marga’s response, and shot him and Quiñones several times.

Residents interfered and tried to pacify the cop, who fled the scene but left his government-issued firearm.

Marga was declared dead on arrival at the Tondo Medical Center while Quiñones was still under medical treatment as of Friday noon.

Pursuit operations are ongoing against the suspect. (SunStar Philippines)
