NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Guillermo Eleazar has ordered the relief of Brigadier General Christopher Tambungan, director of the Eastern Police District (EPD), for allegedly assaulting a lady police officer.

Corporal April Santiago said Tambungan verbally assaulted her at about 7 p.m. on May 12, when he confronted her near a police community precinct in Greenhills, San Juan City, where she is assigned, for allegedly failing to help him undertake a task.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage on the incident showed Tambungan striking Santiago's head and swinging his car door to hit her.
