ACTRESS Iza Calzado tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), her talent manager Noel Ferrer said on Saturday, March 28.

In an Instagram post, Ferrer said Calzado received the result on Friday, March 27.

He added that the actress is recovering well with continuous treatment for pneumonia and the coronavirus disease.

The talent manager said Calzado does not know where she may have contracted the virus.

However, the actress will be tested again to check her condition.

“She (Calzado) can actually breath now without any oxygen assistance. She will be tested again to see if she is already negative. Her husband Ben and others who interacted with her have not shown any symptoms,” Ferrer said.

The “Culion” actress earlier announced that she was hospitalized for pneumonia.

“I am hoping you all can join me in prayer for those who are currently sick and their loved ones, for every person struggling to cope in these tough times,” Calzado said.

Previously, actors Christopher de Leon and Domingo “Menggie” Cobarrubias also tested positive for Covid-19. Cobarrubias succumbed to Covid-19 on Thursday, March 26. (NJN/SunStar Philippines)
