M6.2 quake hits parts of Mindanao

A MAGNITUDE 6.2 tectonic earthquake shook some parts of Mindanao at around 6 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake, with a depth of 76 kilometers, was logged at 6:12 p.m. and centered near Governor Generoso town in Davao Oriental.

Phivolcs said damage was not expected although aftershocks may occur.

The quake was felt at Intensity 5 in Mati City and Intensity 2 in Bislig City.

Instrumental Intensities were also felt in Alabel and Kiamba, Sarangani (Intensity 4); Kidapawan City (Intensity 3); and Cagayan de Oro City (Intensity 1). (SunStar Philippines)
