Manila, Seoul sign 5 agreements

THE Philippines and South Korea signed five agreements aimed at bolstering the two nations’s cooperation in various fields.

The deals were signed on the sidelines of President Rodrigo Duterte’s bilateral meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-In at the Westin Chosun Busan Hotel on Monday, November 25.

Manila and Seoul signed a memorandum on understanding (MOU) that seeks to strengthen their cooperation in fisheries and education.

The two nations also agreed to implement an MOU on tourism cooperation.

They also issued a joint statement on the early achievement package of the negotiations of the Philippines and Korea’s free trade agreement.

A social security agreement was also signed between the Philippines and South Korea.

Duterte is currently in South Korea for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ commemorative summit with South Korea in Busan. (NASE/SunStar Philippines)
