TROPICAL Depression Marilyn slowed down while moving northwestward at 10 kilometers per hour (km/h), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its 11 a.m. advisory Friday, September 13.

Marilyn has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gusts up to 70 km/h.

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will continue until Saturday morning, September 14, over Palawan, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and Bangsamoro Autonomous region.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and the rest of Mimaropa and Visayas will experience heavy rain showers with thunderstorms.

Marilyn remains less likely to make landfall in the country, and it is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility Monday morning, September 16, said Pagasa. (SunStar Philippines)
