A MOTHER of five from Negros Occidental province died while undergoing liposuction at a clinic in Makati City, police reported on Wednesday, July 10.

Nory Bobadilla, 43, a mother of five, had flown in from Negros Occidental to undergo liposuction at a clinic in Makati City on July 3.

Major Gideon Ines, chief of the Makati City Police Station Crimes Against Person Section, said Bobadilla reportedly stopped breathing in the middle of the procedure.

"The attending doctor and anesthesiologist tried to revive the patient but to no avail," said Ines. The names of the doctors and the clinic have been withheld.

The patient was rushed to Paranaque Doctors Hospital, where she was in a comatose condition until she died on July 6.

Ines said the family of the victim requested for an investigation and said they were preparing to file charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide against the doctors involved. (SunStar Philippines)
